Victoria Barracks

I visited here with a couple of friends the place was vast but quite bare, it was covered in snow so made quite a challenge, here is some history found on Wikipedia…. with Photographs coming shortly.
Fort Victoria and Fort Louis, popularly known as Victoria Barracks were two barracks that between Werl and Wickede directly in Werler city forest on the B63. The plants were left abandoned in 1994.
From 1956 to 1970, the plant was built by the Canadian Forces used. Here the barracks and quarters for unmarried soldiers were housed. The married soldiers and their families lived in the Canadian settlement in Werl. Even the radio stations CAE – Radio Canadian Army Europe had its location here. This was the first Canadian radio stations on German soil. On FM and 1970 programs were broadcast for the Canadian soldiers in Germany.
From 1970 to 1994 in the barracks of the soldiers were British Rhine Army stationed. the building has been empty since 1994, leaving on site a church, cinema and crew quarters.
